Performing Home Visits
Home visits are an essential step to ensuring that we find safe and loving homes for our very deserving boxers. You are the eyes and ears for NCBR to evaluate the living situation that one of our dogs could potentially be placed in.
Home Visit requests will typically come from our Adoption Application Processors or our Foster Home Coordinator.
Before performing your first NCBR Home Visit, you should receive a personal introduction from one of our NCBR volunteers for guidance on your first Home Visit. You should also take the time to review the NCBR Home Visit Guide, which is full of helpful information, as well as procedures to be followed during your visit. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Adoption Application Processors before proceeding with a Home Visit.
Once you have completed the home inspection for a prospective adopter or foster home, please submit the NCBR Home Visit Report. Please be as timely as possible in this submission as adopters are often anxious to take their new fur-buddy home, and, in the case of foster home inspections, we often need to pull a dog from the shelter as quickly as possible and need to know when a new home is approved.
